LEWIS, Bruce Marvin, 89, of Middletown, formerly of Morrow, OH died Friday March 9, 2012. Born December 16, 1922 in Morrow, OH to Guy and Artie (nee: Barlow) Lewis. Bruce was a decorated WWII veteran, receiving the American Campaign Medal, the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 4 Bronze Stars, WWII Victory Medal and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal. He was a member of the Morrow VFW, the American Legion, the Masonic Lodge, and was a member of the Olive Branch United Methodist Church. Bruce retired from the Little Miami School District in 1988, but served the Washington Township area for several years as Township Trustee. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Carolyn (nee: Leaf) Lewis, one son, Bruce (Susan) Lewis, one daughter, Beverly (Kenneth) Williams, one brother, Jack Lewis, two sisters, Betty Jo Houston and Esther Davis, five grandchildren, Jarrod and Michael Williams, and Zachary, Erin And Joshua Lewis, and four great grandchildren, Jacob, Grace, Ella and Anna Williams. Throughout his life, Bruce was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. He and Carolyn looked forward each year to wintering in Ruskin, Florida with his many friends, and returning in the spring to hunt mushrooms. Visitation, Monday, March 12, 2012 from 4-6 PM with a memorial service following at 6 PM at the Vale-Hoskins Funeral Home, Morrow.
